I watched the video Trafficked: A Parent’s Worst Nightmare this weekend. Trafficked is a movie with such an important theme. You will be want to be sure to watch it. Human trafficking is scary and is something we have to be aware of and protect ourselves against. I have a digital download of Trafficked to giveaway.
Trafficked: A Parent’s Worst Nightmare was extremely hard for me, personally, to watch. I’ll be honest. I almost had to turn it off after about 15 minutes. But, I knew that this was a movie that I needed to see. Truly, it’s a movie with a message I needed to hear. It’s a movie with a message YOU need to hear too. January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month. What better time for this movie to come out and in reality we need to be spreading hope for rescue, recovery, and healing
About Trafficked: A Parent’s Worst Nightmare
“TRAFFICKED is the story of Allison Riley (Sophie Bolen – THE HORSE DANCER, RODEO GIRL), a beautiful young girl with a bright future and a dream of becoming a veterinarian. On the eve of her 16th birthday, she sneaks out of her house to meet a handsome boy she met online and disappears. Her parents, Joanna (Kristy Swanson – BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF) and Case (Mark Boyd – WHIP IT, “12 Monkeys”), contact the police who assume that Allison is just out with a boyfriend. They reluctantly hire Private Investigator John Belton (Dean Cain – Lois and Clark, GOD’S NOT DEAD ) who has a reputation for making his own rules. Belton quickly discovers that Allison had likely been trafficked by a handsome young man she met online and that he’s on a race against time if the Riley’s hope to see their daughter again.”
How many families are at risk for a human trafficking situation today? Your neighbors family? Your family? Clearly, many could be named. My own family’s name could be thrown in the hat. That is why it was so hard for me to watch. Even so, it was very important for me to continue to watch.
Some of you know that I’ve had some personal troubles with my family in the past couple of years. Without a doubt, it is my Church family and Prayer that gets me through every day. Because I don’t know. I don’t know where my family member is. Because I don’t know what my family member is doing. Because I don’t know who my family member is with. I pray for healing and for reconciliation.
Absolutely, this was a very hard movie for me to watch. Nonetheless, it is a movie that needs to be watched. A Message that needs to be shared. A subject that needs to be talked about. I urge you to buy Traffick: A Parent’s Worst Nightmare. Human trafficking is happening in your neighborhood, believe it or not.
