I was so happy to be able to review The Adventures Of RockFord T. Honeypot. I don’t allow myself time to read that often. This didn’t sound like a book that I wanted to miss out on though.
The Adventures of Rockford T. HoneyPot is a quick-paced and fun new adventure novel that incorporates strong values while teaching important life lessons. One of the best books for kids and families to read today, “The Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot” is filled with thrilling, comedic, and sometimes harrowing tales to help children understand the importance of not giving up on their dreams, even when faced with adversity.
As a young chipmunk, shy, bookish Rockford T. Honeypot had dreams of thrilling adventures across the forest. However, timid of danger and germs, his only adventures were found in books and his imagination. When his family abandons him after a mistake that destroys their hazelnut business, Rockford sets off on a legendary journey beyond his wildest dreams. From exploring cuisines with a famous chef, training with ancient warrior monks, flying on giant hawks, finding true love, and much more, Rockford recounts his epic origin story of hardship, perseverance, and fortune.
The wide use of vocabulary is wonderful in this book. I don’t think that children’s vocabulary usage is stretched these days. I really LOVE that kids will be trying to find out what does “stoop, vertical or detected” means.
I also was SO excited that the kids were exposed to SO many different animals. I learned all of these animals while growing up on a farm. Many children never learn about some of these animals though.
Your child will also learn about several different foods while reading this awesome book. I learned from subbing at school that most children haven’t tried a lot of fruits and veggies. While I’m talking about this topic, I’m serious about it. Some children haven’t tried strawberries, carrots, green grapes. Some of it my area, Arkansas, is economic. The family not being about to afford these items. Of course, it could be, that the food could have not been introduced to the child. Either way, I hated it for the kids. The Adventures Of Rockford T. Honeypot introduces several foods to the readers.
