I’ve recently begun to have migraines. They started in December or so, maybe earlier. They are a killer. I’ve tried several drugs and have seen a neurologist. Now I’m on Topamax to stop them (hopefully) and if that doesn’t work then I take Frova at the onset of one. Do you know what comes at the onset of a migraine? NAUSEA! It’s awful- I hate to throw up- I’d rather throw up though than just sit there and be so sick to my stomach that it’s unbearable.
I’ve been introduced to an FDA approved Sea-Band Drug-Free Nausea Relief Bands. The principle behind it is the ancient art of Chinese acupressure. It exerts constant pressure on the inner wrist. That stimulation causes your body’s natural healing process to begin.
There are no side effects as with other anti-nausea products like:
1. Dry mouth
3. Safe to use during pregnancy, after surgery, and with other migraine medications
In clinical studies, the band starts working within 5 minutes and can be worn for as long as needed or reused if nausea returns.
A 2010 German study specializing in migraine and headache therapy showed that Sea-Band Wrist Bands significantly reduced nausea and vomiting in those who had suffered from migraines for more than 26 years. 83% noticed a perceptible reduction in nausea and 44% found their symptoms markedly reduced.
I don’t know about you and your type of migraines but as for me- those numbers are enough that I am willing to try it. I received a pair of Sea-Band Wrist Bands that came in a convenient little case that I could easily fit in my purse or pocket. I have large wrists but they fit comfortably. I could feel the pressure but it was not overpowering. I have not had a migraine since I received the Sea-Bands (Thank The Lord)- But the next time I do- I am going to use them.
Sea-Band products are available in the U.S. in Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, as well as in Canada in Overwaitea, IDA, Familiprix, Guardian and other independent drugstores or pharmacies throughout North America or online at drugstore.com and at http://www.sea-band.com/shop.
The suggested retail price is $10.99 per pair in the US and $12.99 in Canada.
