School has officially started. Gracie’s not a big one on schedules. She doesn’t like going to bed early and she doesn’t get up early. I mean she REALLY doesn’t like to get up early.
Gracie thinks the best thing about school is visiting with friends. In third grade, she was voted most talkative girl. If she gets in any type of trouble (which isn’t very often), it’s for talking. I can’t fault her for that. She comes by it naturally. Her Daddy could talk to a brick wall too. She gets it from him, she can talk to anybody about anything.
On Monday, Gracie was up at 4:20, waking ME up. She was excited even though she said she wasn’t. She was looking forward to going back. She really wanted to see all her friends she hadn’t seen all summer.
Today is a totally different day story- My regular “bear” came alive. It took forever to wake the kid up. She was saying “It’s too early to get up Momma.” I was having to remind her that we were having to leave in 15 minutes, 10 minutes then 5 minutes. You know, her hair had to look a certain way. She didn’t really care if she ate breakfast or brushed her teeth.
Anyhoo, she eventually was able to get some breakfast down. Teeth were brushed and we were able to get on the road at the correct time. Tomorrow will be the same way. It’s this way every day, every year. Such is my life with Gracie. I LOVE IT!
