Just yesterday I was talking with my Mother in law about being outside with Gracie and playing on the swing set with her. She loved to swing when she was little. I really think that’s her favorite thing to do during recess at school even now. All she wanted me to do was “PUSH ME HIGHER MOMMA”. We had so much fun.
We started out with a little baby swing that Don built. I’m not sure how he did it, but he could build anything he wanted to. It didn’t have anything fancy. The Swingsetmall carries swingset accessories, I bet if Don had known at the time, he would have added more to it. I wish I had picture of that first swing set to show you. We later gave it to a friend at Church who had a little boy who was a little younger than Gracie. We upgraded to a regular swing set.
That regular swing set is the one that has brought us so much joy, but now sits basically unused. I remember when we bought that swing. It took Don forever to put it together. I think my father in law even had to come over to help. I’m not for sure on that. It was worth it in the end though. Gracie has spent so many hours on that blue swing. She could swing forever, slide down and crawl up. I don’t know what you call that little two seat swing, but she would do that by herself as long we would help push. I wish she had a teeter totter. That would have been fun.
Now, the old blue swing has the swings pulled down. She uses it mainly to climb across from one side to the other. The slide is dirty and I don’t even know if she would fit on the slide if she tried. Time flies by. I’m glad I have all these memories of the blue slide. I hope that Gracie remembers it when she grows up as time well spent with her Momma.
How about you? Do you have a swing set? Do you spend a lot of time outside?
