The world has changed a lot since I was a child. We used to play solitaire, paper dolls, and read for hours. Nowadays, we prefer solitaire online, Minecraft, and reading e-books.
I grew up on a farm. Miles away from the nearest neighbors, really. When we weren’t doing our chores, my brother and I had different ideas of fun. I liked to play games. It was hard to find games to play by yourself, so I became an ACE solitaire player. I loved paper dolls and would play with them until they would fall apart. Honestly, I read anything I could.
What I wouldn’t have done to have had access to solitaire online, as I do today. I’ve been playing online solitaire to pass the time. Although it is totally online, it reminds me of my childhood.
I can remember sitting at a HUGE dining room table trying my hardest to find those aces. It would aggravate me SO much when my Mother would ask me to do put my cards up because we had to set the table for dinner.
For some reason, I seemed to get my cards damp. The cards always seemed to just “barely” touch the condensation of my coke. Man, that wouldn’t leave me feeling happy at all. I was really protective of my cards. They were my friends. Don’t hurt my friends!
The Internet Changed Solitaire For Me
As you can tell, I grew up in an age where the internet was not a “thing”. Even if it had been, I doubt that we could have picked it up in the middle of nowhere. My little world would have been so different if I could have had a computer and been able to play solitaire online.
Technology has given us the ability to play games anytime, anywhere. This is due to the advancement of mobile gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch and smartphones. You’ll find games ranging from solitaire to retro atari games. Everyone should be able to find something to relax them and occupy their time.
I like the fact that several of today’s gaming websites do not charge you to play their games. In today’s economy, a lot of people just can’t afford to pay to play games.
Today, I’ve played online solitaire twice, honestly. Have I had the extra time? NO. Have I enjoyed myself? YES.
Not only did I relax while I play solitaire today, but I reminisced. I thought about my brother that I lost over 30 years ago. Thought about rice fields, soybeans, and pulling weeds.
I’m thankful that I’m taking a few minutes out of my day to relax. We all need it. Could playing games online be your way of relaxing? How about entering sweepstakes?
