***Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are 100% my own.***
I do have to confess, I love the character, Nancy Drew. I grew up reading and re-reading the books. I REALLY believe that children are not reading books like we (adults) did and still do. Guess what though? Nancy Drew And The Hidden Staircase has come to DVD! This DVD can give your children a taste of Nancy and hopefully give them the “bug” to desire to learn more about Nancy Drew and her mysteries.
Gracie and I both watched Nancy Drew And The Hidden Staircase. For the first time in a long time, we both walked away really enjoying the same movie. To be honest, Gracie was already obsessed with the actress who portrayed Nancy, Sophia Lillis, “IT”‘s breakout star. I think she may be one of Grace’s favorite actresses.
I dearly loved the movie. It was family friendly, took me back to my own childhood, and (don’t laugh), REALLY made me want to strive to be like Flora as I age. This is a MUST WATCH movie.
At the beginning of the movie, the song that was played was perfect. It was “More Than Just A Girl“. All girls should feel this way. They should feel like they are SO much more than just a girl and capable of SO much more. The movie talks about Nancy’s superpowers. We need to build our daughters up and EVERYONE has some type of superpower! This movie also touches on cyberbullying. Gracie has been a victim of cyberbullying. I don’t know how to stop this, but it took us forever and a lot of visits to Police Stations and Sherriff’s Offices. Friendship is a strong point in this movie too. I really think girls need strong friendships. I know that I just touched on a couple of points here, but they are the points that stuck out the most to me in this movie. I won’t say how Nancy Drew And The Hidden StairCase ended but it was great. I loved this movie. ***Has anyone counted how many times I’ve said that, lol***
