Lemon poppyseed soap will leave your skin feeling fresh and exfoliated. The lemon smell will help energize you!

    1. Cut the soap base into 1-inch cubes and add to the measuring cup.
    2. Heat on high in 30-second intervals, stirring between each heat session, until the soap base is fully melted.
    3. Add the colorant, then essential oil and stir well.
    4. Add the poppyseeds and mix them together.
    5. Pour into the soap mold, and leave undisturbed for 2-3 hours, until soap has hardened.

If your soap starts creating bubbles on top after pouring the soap base into molds, you can break them up by spraying the soap with rubbing alcohol. This will create a smoother texture and surface.

Poppyseeds are great for exfoliating dead skin cells and encouraging a radiant complexion. They also have natural skin-soothing properties that can reduce redness and irritation. Poppyseeds can also be used in a facial scrub. It will leave your skin looking fresh and blemish-free.

Although today’s DIY lemon poppyseed soap was made with glycerin, I have shared a couple of melt and pour soaps that contain goat’s milk. Layered lavender, honey, oatmeal soap, and apple cinnamon soap are both GREAT handmade soaps. They are great for using yourself or gift-giving.
