I have a confession, I don’t have a credit card. Can you imagine someone in this day and age not having one? I know that not having credit card debt is good, but there are drawbacks from not having a credit card.
Have you tried to write a check lately? It’s getting harder. Most restaurants will not accept checks at all. Department stores want cash or credit cards now too. Gas stations don’t even take checks these days. You really can’t write a check online! What’s a girl to do?
I have a debit card, but with fraud and theft, sometimes I’m afraid to use it. If it’s stolen, how hard will the bank fight to get my money back? Maybe I worry too much, maybe I don’t worry enough. I don’t know. Credit cards also report to credit bureaus. I could use the credit card and pay off the balance every little bit. This way I would get some good reports on my credit score. I wouldn’t want to charge the card up though. I’d have to be cautious.
Some credit cards also offer rewards. I’d love to find a way to get a bonus every now and then from buying everyday items or gas. Talking about gas, you could make a killing on rewards on gas these days, I bet. Gas is so high! Driving back and forth to Marmaduke everyday puts a big hole in the pocket book. What about groceries? It’s just the two of us, but come on they just keep going up. I think we need a reward just for getting by these days.
I need a place that will help me compare credit card offers. I also need a place that will help me find the best interest rates. I don’t want to apply for the wrong card type of card for me. While looking online I came across the Totally Money site where I can read more about credit cards before I decide to apply for one.
So, tell me everyone, what credit card offers you the best rewards? What card gives you the best rates? Can you give me any ideas?
