Cocoa Bombs

I’ve found the PERFECT recipe for the upcoming Halloween season. How about Day Of The Dead White Chocolate Hot Cocoa Bombs? Let me tell you, hot cocoa bombs are always a hit for any get-together. These will be the hit of the party!

I am so excited that the weather is cooling down. It’s the perfect time for making hot chocolate bombs. I have been obsessed with these since my first attempt at making them last year, White Chocolate Peppermint Bombs for Christmas. A few other hot cocoa bombs and hot chocolate drinks followed that post – I just really like hot chocolate. I love to watch the hot cocoa bombs melt! It’s fun 🙂

Hot chocolate is the epitome of fall and winter. It’s so warm and comforting, it can make you forget the weather outside.

One of the reasons why hot chocolate is so great is because it’s so versatile. You can put anything into it to make it your own – from marshmallow to nuts, to whipped cream, or even a shot of peppermint schnapps.

You can make a hot chocolate as sweet as you want by adding more sugar or as spicy as you want by adding more cinnamon. Hot cocoa is a drink that can be tailored to your needs and preferences with ease!

Today’s hot cocoa bomb recipe is made unique by adding Day Of The Dead sprinkle mix to the outside of it. Trust me, it will be a hit! I was able to pick mine up at my local Walmart, but you might be able to order yours online at Walmart or Amazon.

Ingredients

  • 7 oz white chocolate melting wafers
  • 6 tbsp hot cocoa mix
  • 1 oz blue candy melts
  • Day of the Dead sprinkle mix
  • Semi-sphere silicone mold
  • Plastic ziplock baggie

Instructions

    1. Set a large glass plate in the refrigerator
    2. .Melt the white chocolate.
    3. Place a small spoonful of melted chocolate in a mold cavity, then use the spoon to coat the entire cavity. Repeat on all of the mold cavities.
    4. Set the mold in the freezer for 5 minutes.
    5. Remove the mold from the freezer, and repeat step 3 for the second coat of chocolate.
    6. Set the mold in the freezer for 5 minutes.
    7. Heat a small glass plate in the microwave for 2 minutes.
    8. Remove the plate and the molds from the freezer. Remove the chocolate spheres from the mold and set them on the cold plate.
    9. Take one sphere, place upside down on the hot plate to melt the edge of the
chocolate, and fill with one tablespoon of cocoa mix. Place another sphere upside down on the hot plate to melt the edge of the chocolate, and attach the two spheres together to seal the cocoa bomb. Repeat until you have assembled all of the cocoa bombs.
    10. Add blue candy to the ziplock bag and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove, and massage the bag. If not fully melted, heat for 10-second intervals, until fully melted.
    11. Snip the very corner of the baggie with scissors, and pipe the chocolate over the top of each cocoa bomb.
    12. Add sprinkles
    13. To use, fill a mug with 6 ounces of hot water or milk, and drop the cocoa bomb in, then stir.

If you check on Facebook marketplace during the holidays, hot chocolate bombs sell for $5 and up A PIECE! That’s a great side hustle for you if you are looking for one. I would drink all of my profits though. It wouldn’t be a good side hustle for me.

Now, my favorite hot cocoa bomb (so far) is the Mardi Gras Cocoa Bomb. I just love the way it melts. It tastes really good too. What is your favorite cocoa bomb?
