Gracie will be in junior high next year. I know that isn’t anywhere near prom, but in Mom years, it really is. Time flies by once you have children. It seems just like yesterday that Gracie was born. It seems just like a few days that she’ll be going to her own prom.
I often wonder what prom dresses will be in fashion when she get’s to be a junior/senior. We had big, long puffy dresses when I went to school. Amanda, my sister, had long fitted dresses when she was in high school.
If Gracie were a junior/senior now, she would probably choose a dress like this A-line/Princess dress. It is so pretty and looks just like her!
It comes in a variety of colors and she would look gorgeous in any of them, but would most likely choose any pink or purple color. You all know she’s a pink and purple girl.
I will have to be very frugal when it come times for Gracie to go to prom. If you are in my boat and are searching out cheap prom dresses, your daughter needs to understand your situation. That way she can be on board with you while you BOTH search out the best deals on prom dresses.
My advice if you are looking for the best deals, is to start out early. That way you will have plenty of time to search and find the best deals. This way your daughter and you can both agree on the style and the price. If your daughter knows ahead of time your budget she is more likely to accept the terms and look within your means.
I know that Gracie is very understanding. As long as you are up front with your daughter, the situation, no matter what it may be, will go much smoother. It saves a lot of headaches in the end.
