I’m joining in with a great group of bloggers in the Fall Is In The Air Giveaway Hop. LeahSay’s Views and Miki’s Hope are the hosts and each blog will have a giveaway prize valued of at least $15.

Fall for me just flies right by to the Holidays. Then I’m a crazy woman, literally. Can anyone out there relate? To help with the holiday madness that is about to fall upon us, I’m offering a $25 gift card to Amazon, iTunes or PayPal. One of those stores have to help with shopping.

This giveaway is open worldwide and to anyone who has an account into one of these places. Winner must reply to my winning e-mail within 48 hours or I will choose a new winner. It is a rafflecopter giveaway so please give the form time to load.

They don’t ‘sneak’ up on me, but there are times that I do procrastinate some, although I try to keep a stock of gifts throughout the year. Since these are often not specific to a recipient, sometimes they are used for other occasions though, so I have to carefully review what I have when the holidays are actually near.

I try to prepare for the holidays all year. It’s always dependant on the weather here where I live. The weather is what can stress me out more than anything else. You never know if your car will be snowed in, if you’ll have to dig yourself out of snow or scape yourself out of ice, etc. It’s the weather more than anything else that is very stressful. That’s why I prepare all year for the holidays 🙂

I used to plan everything to do and have it done….now, I simply go with the flow of the day…is it a good apple orchard day? then when we get back Halloween decorations go up….rainy today? then off to the store for Halloween candy….getting chilly outside? time to get a guest list started….etc…I just go with what the day is offering me any more 🙂

Since my girls have gotten older, I have started doing less for the holidays. My girls and I usually go to my sister’s house in Wisconsin for a day on or around Christmas, so I do some cooking for that, but I don’t have to worry about things like decorating. We’ve also cut down on exchanging gifts since my own girls and my sister’s two boys are all grown and have life expenses that don’t leave them alot for buying gifts. For me, just having the day together is the best gift of all.

Yes they totally do. Yet this year I am determined to change that! I have already started buying stocking stuffers, and more importantly I am going to master the fine art of saying “no”! Saying no to things that I feel obligated to do but don’t want to do, selfish… a bit. But I want to fully enjoy this holiday season and not be manically stressed out.

The holidays are always here faster than I am ready. I try to have some extra family time and relax when it gets too stressful. I kind of think it will work out whether I stress or not.

The holidays don’t usually “catch up on me” – I love them too much! I try to start planning as early as possible to lessen the unnecessary stress normally associated with the season!

Thanksgiving is the only holiday I actually celebrate. I avoid Christmas, but do celebrate the birth of Christ. I think it has become too commercialized.

I start getting ready for the holidays around the time I hear the clattering of hooves on the rooftop. I approach the holidays like Travis McGee, who said he was taking his retirement in installments.

When I was younger, Christmas couldn’t get here fast enough. Fast forward to now. Trying to manage holiday cards and fit in shopping. Deciding whether to have that extra serving of cookies at a holiday party since my belt is already too tight. And, of course, wishing the time would go a little slower so I could fit everything in. This year, I’m just letting it go — and instead of pushing to speed along so I can get to the next store, the next item on the to-do list, I am going to enjoy— really enjoy! — shopping.
