but i do buy gifts early
They don’t really sneak up at all, and I don’t “fuss” over them….usually it’s just 2 or 3 of us for dinner (wish it was my WHOLE family tho). Thanks and God Bless!
The holidays always sneak up on me and unfortunately, I am a procrastinator. I try to take one task at a time and not get overwhelmed so I can still enjoy the season.

I am usually pretty ready for the holidays. I shop year round and try to finish on black friday. I decorate the day after Thanksgiving 🙂
They don’t ‘sneak’ up on me, but there are times that I do procrastinate some, although I try to keep a stock of gifts throughout the year. Since these are often not specific to a recipient, sometimes they are used for other occasions though, so I have to carefully review what I have when the holidays are actually near.
So much to do by the end of the year… How do I get time to slow down? Good question! By dropping all the balls I’m juggling with. By getting absorbe in one of my passions (and spending way too many hours researching it online). By taking a long hot bath.
It does though shops/tv adverts remind you pretty early these days. Halloween hasn’t gone yet but Christmas stuff is everywhere!

I try to shop for the Holidays year round so they do not sneak up on me.
For me it’s winter that’s sneaking up on me. I still have to put up a temporary car shelter and buy new anchoring for it (workers redid our driveway just days ago). I am trying to stay calm and not get too overwhelmed by it all as best I can (usually with distraction)

I try not to rush anything.
Yes the Holidays always seem to come & Go so swiftly! It’s not such a work out on me anymore. Our Children are Married. In fact they are Both Grandmas themselves. I am not able to go to the malls anymore,,:0( I do most of my holiday shopping on line.. The Hustle and Bustle for me is in the Past.. I truly do miss it though~

Every year! Take time to unwind every night.
I try to not put too much on my plate.
I try to prepare for the holidays all year. It’s always dependant on the weather here where I live. The weather is what can stress me out more than anything else. You never know if your car will be snowed in, if you’ll have to dig yourself out of snow or scape yourself out of ice, etc. It’s the weather more than anything else that is very stressful. That’s why I prepare all year for the holidays 🙂
I just stay calm and relaxed and not make everything more into what it’s not.
I don’t put too much on my plate. I used to have a lot of trouble with stress, so I had to make a lot of difficult changes, and now I have my priorities and otherwise I don’t overextend. This has really helped my life and wellbeing. I do with a lot less, but I guess in many ways I have a lot more now.
Staying active, going for runs and making daily goals slows time down for me.
I wish I had time to slow down! Working full time and raising two little kids is hard…I can definitely say that the holidays sneak up on me!
I always make sure I plan ahead this way they do not sneak up on me

Yes it definitely sneaks up on me….I wish I knew how to slow time down.
The holidays always seem to sneak up on me! I try to make time slow down by taking time to slow down myself. Taking time to relax and live in the moment makes such a difference over rushing 24/7
Not anymore. I guess it comes naturally growing up, but since it’s the only time the whole family gets together all year round, I started to plan ahead so I can enjoy the short time we have together to the max, without any stress ruining it.
I plan ahead of time for holidays so they do not come up as fast
The holidays always sneak up on me. I worked for a stationery company the last four years, so I would work 72-80 hour weeks during the holidays. I no longer work there, and this will be the first year I’m not working like crazy in a long time. That alone is going to help me slow down!
I make a list of people and what I plan to give them… Then I look at sales everyday to make sure that I dont pass a good deal

I try to make sure that even if I’m stressed out about the holidays that I spend as much time as I can with family!

I like to buy gifts and save them for holidays when they roll around! 🙂
I make lists and keep a calendar of what I need to do and places I need to go in the coming weeks. I feel more organized when I can see it all in front of me instead of everything just rambling around in my head.

I teach so the holidays are always on my mind but they do have a way of sneaking up on me.
Yes they do, especially when some holidays are so close to each other and even overlap. It’s overwhelming but I learn to take some time to care for myself.
The holidays always sneaks up on me. I will try to be more prepared this year.
I try not to let he holidays sneak up on me by purchasing gifts year round so it’s less stressful. If all else fails, I take a soaking bath everynight!

Yes, the holidays sneak up on me. I try to do a lot of my shopping online.
The year flys by
the year seems to go straight from summer to holidays. I like to get my shopping down early and keep things simple to enjoy it all
The holidays always sneak up on me
the older I get, the harder it is to hold on to time….I remember as a kid days would just drag on, last forever…..nowadays, it’s tomorrow already when I just got used to it being today. I used to plan everything to do and have it done….now, I simply go with the flow of the day…is it a good apple orchard day? then when we get back Halloween decorations go up….rainy today? then off to the store for Halloween candy….getting chilly outside? time to get a guest list started….etc…I just go with what the day is offering me any more 🙂
I’ve already started shopping for the holidays.
NO matter how early I get ready, it still gets stressful. I at least try and save up money/gift card wins, other blog wins leading up to it so I’m halfway prepared.

The last few years it seems like they sneak up on me.. I try to make sure I plan accordingly, but it seems like between work and everything else, time just gets away from me. I’ve started a new job, moved back home, and have already requested time off for Christmas, so this year should be a little different
I usually try to shop early and bake a bit earlier cookies that can be frozen

The holidays don’t sneak up on me, I try to prepare and shop early so I don’t have to rush and can enjoy the holidays.
I like holidays specially Christmas… 🙂
I buy all year when I see something I think the person would like.
I start shopping for Christmas right after Christmas and it still sneaks up on me!
The holidays always seem to sneak up on me. And it has already this year. We are almost to the middle of October and Christmas will be here before we know it. Unfortunately I have not found a way to slow down during the season. Praying this year will be different.
I absolutely love the holidays season but I have to admit, every year I swear I’ll get ready early and every year I have to do last minute shopping!
I decorate early and shop as early as possible.
Every year I say I’m going to plan things earlier but every year I procrastinate and the holidays sneak up on me and then I start to get stressed out,no time, money or whatever else is looming down on me,my husband and I just shut down, watch a movie,go out for a bite to eat and escape reality for awhile.
holidays are sneaky.like birthdays.my wife keeps me up on things.mostly.thank you.
Since my girls have gotten older, I have started doing less for the holidays. My girls and I usually go to my sister’s house in Wisconsin for a day on or around Christmas, so I do some cooking for that, but I don’t have to worry about things like decorating. We’ve also cut down on exchanging gifts since my own girls and my sister’s two boys are all grown and have life expenses that don’t leave them alot for buying gifts. For me, just having the day together is the best gift of all.
Yes they totally do. Yet this year I am determined to change that! I have already started buying stocking stuffers, and more importantly I am going to master the fine art of saying “no”! Saying no to things that I feel obligated to do but don’t want to do, selfish… a bit. But I want to fully enjoy this holiday season and not be manically stressed out.
The holidays are always here faster than I am ready. I try to have some extra family time and relax when it gets too stressful. I kind of think it will work out whether I stress or not.
The holidays don’t usually “catch up on me” – I love them too much! I try to start planning as early as possible to lessen the unnecessary stress normally associated with the season!
Thanksgiving is the only holiday I actually celebrate. I avoid Christmas, but do celebrate the birth of Christ. I think it has become too commercialized.
My mother and I love the holiday season so it doesn’t sneak up on us. Once it’s time for Halloween it’s party party party! 😀
I’m normally swamped and overly extended until after Jan 1st. Then I take time for myself and slow down considerably.
Absolutely, it seems like I never have enough time to get everything done.
Holiday’s don’t really sneak up on me, but I still wait until the last minute.
They don’t really sneak up on me. I start planning all of my holiday celebrations and start gift buying right after the new year in January! I try to have everything planned out by the beginning of November!
I start getting ready for the holidays around the time I hear the clattering of hooves on the rooftop. I approach the holidays like Travis McGee, who said he was taking his retirement in installments.
The holidays tend to sneak up on me every year. We set aside weekly time as a family to slow down and enjoy life.

yes the holidays do creep up on me for sure I try to keep ahead of it by doing things year round to make it easier
The holidays always seem to come so quickly! I try and buy presents throughout the year so that it is not a mad dash at the end of the year.
We just dealbwitht the stress and hastle of the holiday seasons.
I really dont plan for the holidays. In the house we just do it.
Time flies, doesn’t it? I have no idea where to begin with Christmas shopping!
You’d figure that since it starts at the same time the holidays wouldn’t jump up on you BUT no. Every damn year I look around and go – Really?!?! Is it THAT time of year again?
Mishelle
I make an Holiday Mix Cd for my friends, I find the songs on the internet and its a year long project.
I usually have a mix done by Labor Day, with the CDs in the mail by Thanksgiving.
I start early, as early as September saving up presents for everyone and making my lists!
I love the holidays, but it can get annoying when they creep up on you really fast. I usually try to plan ahead and try to get everything ready beforehand, so it’s not too overwhelming once the holidays are actually here.
I don’t really think about the holidays
Yes it always does and on top of it my family all have october-january birthdays. This year i have a feeling it will really be hard since we are getting married at the middle of november.
As for the holidays, I don’t really think about them. It’s just too much going on with the world to worry about the holidays.
When I was younger, Christmas couldn’t get here fast enough. Fast forward to now. Trying to manage holiday cards and fit in shopping. Deciding whether to have that extra serving of cookies at a holiday party since my belt is already too tight. And, of course, wishing the time would go a little slower so I could fit everything in. This year, I’m just letting it go — and instead of pushing to speed along so I can get to the next store, the next item on the to-do list, I am going to enjoy— really enjoy! — shopping.
It always sneaks up on me and have never figured out how to slow things down
I look forward to the holidays, so they don’t sneak up on me. I like to plan in advance to get time to slow down.

I don’t cleoebeaye holidays. But as I’ve gotten older, it seems like time is flying by.
yes, they always sneak up on me.
Time flies by.
I love holidays 🙂 i already plan ahead and start decorating early.
Every year the holidays sneak up on me. I never try to do it all in one day. Spread it out over a week or two.
Yes the holidays tend to sneak up on me, actually the wrapping does! I just have to remind myself to do a little wrapping each day.
They always sneak up on me!
They always sneak up on me. Every year, I intend on starting early, but that never happens. I never really slow down.
The holidays can sneak up on us but we try to enjoy them and spend as much family time together as possible.
They sure do.
The holidays do tend to sneak up on me. If you have a way of slowing down time, I’d like to know.
I am always ready for the holidays. I pace myself and don’t overdo anything so I can enjoy the holidays.
