Wow, working from home can be a little dangerous. I’ve never thought of death by tree limb, but it can happen ๐
A local tree limb service was working for a pest control service behind my home. The limbs from that business and the home next door were being dropped into my lawn. I wanted to insure that they would be picked up.
I went over to tell the workman that was standing on my fence that if he had to go inside my yard that he’d have to ask for my fence to be unlocked because my dogs WILL protect me and my property in a New York minute.
At that time, they dropped a limb that missed me by about a foot. I’m serious. I was LIVID. I was scared. I want to be honest, I was saying words I don’t normally say. I was that scared. What if they dropped a limb on one of my dogs? I would just die, it would kill me. It would hurt me more than then dropping that huge limb on ME if they hurt my DOGS.
The pest control hung up on me because I said “damn”. I was told I was being hostile. The tree service hasn’t called me back. My husband is telling me to calm down when he is one who sent me out there to talk to these so called workers.
As you know- I don’t have trees, bushes, flowers, anything in my yard. That is a major reason I bought this house. Yet even though you don’t have tree, you can still die by tree limb. BE CAREFUL.
I’m trying to calm down, lol

Also damn isn’t a swear word in my book!
I don’t think so either Debbie ๐
I’m glad that you are okay. They shouldn’t have to be told to do that. A lot of people unfortunately are super lazy and very very rude.
Thank you Debbie. I think people just do as much (or as little) as they can, until they aren’t allowed to act that way anymore. This could have ended with me in the ER or my dogs at the vet. Either situation would have been a terrible mess.
Oh yeah, that is not acceptable. I can not believe that they didn’t knock on your door to ask permission in the first place and the whole scene could have been avoided.
That’s what Michael was saying over the phone. He was at work and I was at home alone (of course) but that’s all it would have really took.
They probably need a license to operate, so you might want to check with their licensing agent to see if you can file a complaint.
We had a pet duck die by tree limb. The tree was struck by lightening and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Thank you, I will.
It was clearly their fault. What excuses.
I know. I was so upset the day I wrote this. I’m calmer today, yet not over it. I was REALLY scared when that limb fell right by me.
It doesn’t sound like their work is very safe, hope you don’t have a horrible experience like this ever again.
ME TOO ๐
OMG that is some scary stuff. I am glad you are ok. They sound like a very unprofessional company and I would be mad too.
Apperantly (according to the business that hired them)- it was my fault for being outside in my OWN yard and I needed to keep my dogs inside. This tree doesn’t meet my land in ANY manner. They just used my yard as a dumping ground. I think I’m madder today.
I call BS on that… you are entitled to be in YOUR yard whenever you want without the fear of being crushed or your dogs injured. And not to have THEIR trash on your property. That would infuriate me.
I’m calmer today, but I’m STILL not over it. Michael is not happy, nobody is happy.
But… we are back to playing outside againg without fear, lol.
