3 Tips To Save Money And Time

frugal living, save money

With today’s hustle and bustle in life, I think we all are looking for ways to save money and time. Most times it is hard to do both, but what if I could tell you 3 ways to save both? I know I just perked your attention. Don’t worry this isn’t about paying to join some exclusive group or buy an ebook I want to share the 3 tips with you for Free.

1. Make a plan and stick to it. I know, I know but making a plan takes time. Yes it does take time, but I have found if I take time to plan meals or school lunches in advance I am handing out less dollar bills for my kids to purchase school lunches. Plus I have found if i plan ahead when I go to grocery store I buy less junk and save money. Don’t get me wrong I still buy that occasional twix at the checkout line, don’t judge every girl has her weakness ;). Seriously though take time to make plans for groceries, meals, even vacations, as I have found out the more time I take to plan up front the less time and money is wasted while in the midst of day to day life.

2. Automate as much as you can. I am still working on becoming an expert at this as I am little bit of a control freak, but as i realize where others can do it as well or better than me I am experiencing more free time :)…. Yes every mom’s dream. This is one of my favorite things about Amazon Subscribe and Save. All of those items I run out of monthly or every other month I can setup on Amazon then forget about it. That toothpaste, toilet paper, laundry detergent that I constantly need, I don’t have to worry about it. Plus I compared pricing and in many cases Amazon was same or beat my local store prices. While I am talking about Amazon, did you know you can share your Amazon prime with others or better yet you can have others share it with you! Get the full rundown of sharing Amazon Prime Here.

3. Maximize any store membership you pay for! Many of us pay for Amazon prime or a big box store like Costco or Sam’s Club but don’t fully take advantage of it. Did you know that if you have a costco membership it can save you big time on travel? Recently me and girlfriend went on a trip to California, and we needed a rental car so we started looking but all the normal place where $2XX- $3XX. Then my friend remembered about costcotravel.com since she has a Costco membership. She put in our dates and wouldn’t you know it we were able to get a rental car for $96 plus it was free to add me on as a driver. This is just one example that if you pay for membership make sure you maximize it as it would save you time and money.

One bonus tip let others do your deal hunting for you. There are plenty of sites out there that scour the internet and even in store to find the best deals, don’t waste your time doing it as they have already done the work for you. Example If you love shopping at Kohl’s check out Mojosavings Kohl’s Deals section of the site. They cover other stores as well so check it out, you will thank me later.

So there you have it 3 tips plus one bonus tip to help you save time and money. I hope you found these useful or maybe you have a tip of your own. I would love to hear from you.

  • These are all great tips Sonya! I like having control of things too, so it’s also hard for me to automate things. Next time you come to CA, you’ll have to let me know. If you are near me, we’ll have to meet up!

    • Oh Brenda, it would be a miracle if you got me to leave AR. I’ve traveled a little but not much. I’m SO much a homebody, it’s pitiful. I really love the idea of automation in this post too.
